MetaCDN - StreamShark

Accelerating your first content (file) with MetaCDN

Overview

With MetaCDN you can put individual files on our content delivery network. With over 80 PoPs worldwide, your customers will enjoy reliable and super fast downloads no matter where they are. Cherry-pick your largest assets (e.g. product installers, large documents, HD movies) and take the stress off your web server. Making individual files available through our network requires only a few simple steps.

Please note - if you want to accelerate many files that all reside on the same website/domain, we recommend using the website accelerator instead.

Log in to the MetaCDN portal

Log into the MetaCDN portal at http://www.metacdn.com. You will be taken to the dashboard, which gives you an at-a-glance view of all of your important account activity. On the top right-hand side, click on the green button labelled Accelerate.

Tell us about your content

You can enter a title and a description to help keep your accelerated content files organised - the title can be used for searching your list of files later. Selecting the file type tells us how to manage the file, for simple files such as images or PDF documents select Static.

Tell us where to find your content

If the file is already hosted somewhere on the web, select Hosted on the internet and enter the URL we can download it from (e.g http://mysite.com/Q1-Report.pdf). Otherwise, select On my computer and upload the file directly to us.

If you only want the file to be available for a limited time you can select a date for it to be removed from our network. You can also enter tags to further help you keep your content organized - like the content title, tags can be used to search your list of files later.

Spread the word

You will be given a special accelerated MetaCDN URL for your file. You can use this in your website to give your web servers a breather and let your users download the file at high speed no matter where in the world they are.
